Havaldar Sachin Mohite and Vijender Sangwan are the two lucky winners out of a total of over 1 lakh votes cast for our online ‘Guess the Miss Indias’ contest on feminamissindia.indiatimes.com. The participants of the poll had to choose three girls from among a total of 20 finalists and organise the names as per the judges’ final choice.
Sachin and Vijender’s victory becomes even more creditable, considering that the probability of getting all three top winning positions of the contest right were as low as 1 in 6840!
While Sachin and Vijender enjoy their unique victory, not far behind is 19-year-old student Navjot Singh Bonkra from Haryana, who is the lucky winner out of a total of 50,000 contestants who participated in our ‘58888 Guess the Miss Indias 2012’ contest!
Our first online winner, Havaldar Sachin Mohite, 32, who works with the accounts department of the Indian Army in Kota, Rajasthan, browsed through all 20 profiles to get the three Miss Indias correct.
“I made an effort to go through all the 20 profiles and voted for my favourites. It feels good to win,” he says, obviously thrilled. He wins Indiatimes gift vouchers worth `50,000.
Thirty two-year-old Vijender Sangwan from Ghaziabad, who is a project manager with Dabur, is our second winner. He is delighted with his win and says, “It always feels good to win a prize and I am extremely happy. I had gone through all 20 profiles individually and guessed the three correct winners. I wish all three of them well and hope they bring all the international crowns to India this time.” Vijender wins Indiatimes gift vouchers worth `25,000.
For our ‘58888 Guess the Miss India 2012’ contest, participants had to send in the name of one out of the 20 finalists who they thought would win the crown. While 1,462 texted us the correct winner, Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2012 Vanya Mishra, 19-year-old Navjot Singh Bonkra from Haryana was the first to send in the correct answer, thus becoming our clear, uncontested 58888 winner.
Ask the excited Navjot, who has just completed Class XII, how he was so sure about Vanya Mishra, and he replies quite honestly, “I got to know about Vanya through Facebook and texted her name as she was the only one from Chandigarh. Quite frankly, I didn’t check the rest of the 20 profiles. I just checked Vanya’s profile and voted for her.” Navjot wins Indiatimes gift vouchers worth `50,000.
Here is what his choice, PFMI World Vanya Mishra, has to say, “Thanks to all who voted for me and specially Navjot, who voted from my city Chandigarh! I wish him all the best as he wants to study engineering. May he excel wherever he goes.”
One of the online winners who also got the three names right, along with Sachin and Vijender, failed to respond despite several emails and reminders from us, and so had to be disqualified, leaving us with two winners of the contest.
Even as Navjot, Sachin and Vijender receive and enjoy their Indiatimes Shopping vouchers, we thank all who participated in the contest, and promise to be back next year with the same glamour and grandeur and the same questions for our contest.
Vanya Mishra has been crowned PFMI World 2012, Prachi Mishra has won the PFMI Earth 2012 title, and Rochelle
Maria Rao has been declared PFMI International 2012. All three Miss Indias send their best wishes and congratulate the winners of the contests.
